Experience

Prior to forming Sawyer Resort & Golf Advisors in 2004, its founder and Managing Member Bill Sawyer was in charge of the SUCCESSFUL SALE of $300 MILLION of GOLF and RESORT assets covering 26 different properties for Golf Trust of America (GTA -- a public Real Estate Investment Trust or REIT) under a shareholder approved plan of liquidation. Before implementing this asset sale plan, Sawyer originated and completed acquisitions for GTA, which was the second largest REIT owning golf and resort properties.

Prior to GTA, Bill Sawyer was the FOUNDER and PRESIDENT of GOLF FINANCE INC, which specialized in arranging development, acquisition and expansion capital for golf properties. Before entering the golf business in 1991, Bill was Senior Vice President of Integrated Resources Inc, a public real estate and financial services firm headquartered in New York City, where he was in charge of marketing the firm's public investment partnerships, which had annual sales in excess of $500 million.

Bill Sawyer is a graduate of Yale University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Business and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is a licensed real estate broker and has been a member of the National Golf Course Owners Association, the New England Golf Course Owners Association and the Urban Land Institute. He has been married for 36 years.
